Great Western Valve is an industrial valve services company specializing in control, pipeline, and safety relief valve repair and remanufacturing with turnkey machining and repair capabilities. We are API Spec Q1 Registered, National Board of Boiler & Pressure Vessel Inspectors VR Stamp certified, and are the only such company in Texas - demonstrating our exceptional workmanship and commitment to quality.

  • Valve is received and assigned a work order number
  • Number is stenciled on valve for orientation
  • Before pictures taken from 4 angles
  • Valve as-found condition is documented
  • Valve functionality check is performed and recorded
  • Valve is completely disassembled to component level
  • Metal parts are sandblasted to bare material
  • Parts are inspected by Quality Control (QC) Personnel and the Repair Scope is generated
  • Damaged parts are photographed and e-mailed to customer
  • Upon customer approval, Repair Scope is carried out
  • Components requiring machining are completed per QC-issued Repair Scope
  • Line boring principles are used in the machining of bodies and bonnets
  • Critical dimensions are brought back to OEM and Industry Standards
  • PMI is performed on components needing repair or replacement to ensure compliance with customer specifications
  • Average Machinist has 20+ Years OEM Experience
  • Section 9 Certified
  • Weld repairs are accomplished using certified procedures and certified welders
  • Repairs performed on all materials including exotics ; Stellite, Hastalloy, Inconel, Monel, Chrome Moly, etc.
  • Positive Material Identification (PMI) with non-destructive Niton Analyzer
  • Hard facing and cladding
  • Heat treating, stress relieving, and x-ray are also available
  • All parts are inspected by QC prior to assembly
  • All soft goods, elastomers, and bolting are replaced
  • All pipe fittings and stainless tubing are replaced
  • Valves are assembled to OEM or customer specifications
  • All soft goods, elastomers, and bolting are replaced
  • All Instruments receive factory new relays
  • Emerson AMS ValveLink Software
  • Emerson 475 Field Communicators
  • Licensed for HART & Foundation Fieldbus
  • Valves are tested to customer requirements and/or Industry Standards including, but not limited to, FCI 70-2-2006, API 598, API 6D, & NBIC Sec VIII
  • Tests are witnessed and approved by QC Department
  • Final test performed after all accessories are assembled
  • After successful testing, the valve is shipped back to the customer along with the repair report detailing the as-found condition and all work performed
